Water Drawings
In the mid-19th century, there was a two month long storm that ravaged California. The storm system was a combination of an Arctic vortex, which is basically a hurricane that comes from the Arctic, and a large atmospheric river originating from Hawaii. Most of us know this river of moisture as the Pineapple Express. This storm flooded the central valley creating a lake that lasted for months. When I was making this drawing, a similar storm hit California in 2022 leading into one of the wettest winters on record.
